WiFi setup: I enter my network and password but the Pylon-Monitor never connects

Thank you for your detailed message. You have done everything right, and the good news is that the device reads your batteries: the battery side works. Only the WiFi connection needs sorting out. Here is what usually solves it, from the simplest step to the most thorough:

1. Distance to the router. Some units have trouble connecting when they are very close to the router. For the setup, place the device in another room or at least 5 metres away, then run step 4 again.

2. Your router's 2.4 GHz band. The device only uses 2.4 GHz. With a router that shares one name for 2.4 and 5 GHz it usually works, but some routers refuse or steer it away. If yours allows it, create a separate 2.4 GHz network (a guest network is fine) and connect the device to that one. If the security setting is "WPA3 only", switch it to "WPA2/WPA3" or "WPA2".

3. Password. Check it letter by letter, including capitals: a single wrong character gives exactly the result you describe.

4. Power supply. Power the device from a USB wall charger (5 V, 2 A) rather than from a computer port or a weak adapter.

5. Full reinstall over USB. If it still won't connect, reinstall the latest version from a computer at pylon-monitor.com/reset (Chrome or Edge, USB data cable). This erases the device and starts from scratch, which a normal reset does not do. Then set up your WiFi again.
